  • What is inside the Washington Monument?

    One the floor lobby, there is a statue of George Washington. Passing the statue, elevators take you up to the observation deck, where you'll have panoramic views in all directions. One floor down from the observation deck, there is also a small museum. On the trip back down to the ground level, you'll also see commemorative stones given by individuals, civil groups, and various cities, states and countries. 
  • How tall is the Washington Monument?

    The Washington Monument is 555 feet and 5 1/8 inches tall at its highest point. The observation deck is located at 500 feet, providing excellent views of the surrounding area. The monument's museum, located one floor down, is located at 490 feet.
